Grandpa's Here!!!

Grandpa, aka "Bampa" has come.... and gone and we are missing him SO much .. so so much!!! We took a ton of pictures.. here is the best ones.. and there will be more on the next post. ( dad- just save these onto your hard drive, easier for me)

Dad has a conference and was able to share his time with us by coming a few days earlier. Now that we've lived here long enough., we took him to all of our Fave spots, were able to feed him lots of southern cookin, and lots of homemade sweet tea. Hopefully we fattened him up a little bit, so he has constant reminders of us ;) He came bearing gifts from Grandma as well- Easter dresses, and lots of goodies from Oregon, and "grandmas goodie shop" as mini me calls it - aka Harry and Davids.

Lookie lookie.. those flower pots are being filled with fresh new flowers!! We found a new nursery here that reminds me of our fave back in Oregon, but the gift shop is NOTHING in comparison! I have pics on the next post of lil muffin and bampa in the greenhouses. Bampa was like a kid in the candy shop there!

Neighborhood garage sale- since we just moved a few years ago, i had nothing to really sell.. i'm a purger so i dont save alot.. BUT that didnt stop mini me! she set up shop in the back of her daddy's truck and sold lemonade and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for 50 cents each and lemme tell you- the chick made 38 bucks! lol- needless to say, she's eager to have another sale soon!

UH-- although this is such a fantastic picture, it makes me get choked up.. this was before saying goodbye- i HATE goodbyes.. you never know when the next time will be. !!

Grandpa- Thank you for such a wonderful few days with you!!!! We LOVE you!!!

Golf decor is all up now

Now that i have my golf wreath up, i had to add a touch more to welcome that huge championship to town! Bring on the golfers, and all the madness! Sorry, Tiger, i no longer swoon over you-- you pig.

I went to this huge garage sale put on my the junior league- next year, i'll be there right when it opens! I got an entire bag of golf clubs for a BUCK! i was seriously sqealing! I also got this urn at a garage sale, along with the balls and some tees for a smokin deal. i had wanted to make it full of balls, and then had this left over plant from the address planters i made- and got those cool moss rocks, which i've been obsessing over for a year now and would never pay the ridiculous price for.. guess what? Holla Dolla !!! I found packs of them- uhm.. you better believe i think i maybe bought 10 bags of them.. yes.. i did. So.. those lil rocks made an appearance in the urn as well. ALSO super obsessed how it turned out.. ( SUZY- if you do this project, i expect another tag with my name on it ;)

And of course the mailbox cant be left out!!! Its the only on the block to be decorated so far.. Stacey will be soon behind - maybe next year since she's in the whole getting married whirlwind.

She Told It how It Was!

Mini me cracks.me.up! This girl has really learned to voice her opinion and in the last few weeks has REALLY voiced it, getting the nickname from our neighbor Kelly, " mouth of the south". Mini Me's teacher was out for maternity leave for a few months and had a sub for that time. When the sub's time was up, they all made a fun little book for her- with a Disney theme, knowing that she would soon be married and honeymoon there.

Each child was to give advice on what attractions to see there, and then some marriage advice. ... Lemme stop there and back up..

Mini me and muffin have a love/hate relationship just like any other siblings. whenever she gets mad, she'll grunt, roll her eyes and say :"this is why i'm NEVER having kids" as her sister is antagonizing her, or throwing some sort of fit.

FLASH FORWARD TO THIS PROJECT- you wanna guess what her marriage advice was to her teacher? You guessed it! : "DONT.HAVE.KIDS!" bahahahah

I guess when she turned this paper in ( which by the way, she didnt double check spelling with me and inked it- it has many grammatical errors, i know) her parapro teacher pulled her up and asked her about what she wrote- she looked at her and said :"What? Kids ARE annoying", ( mouth of the south hard at work there) , shrugged her shoulders and i guess the parapro laughed.

Sometimes i wonder, is my child WAY beyond her years?! This made me laugh!!!

*NOTE :ALL THE EXCLAMATION MARKS AT THE END OF THE :"DO NOT HAVE KIDS!"

Little Surcie

What are the odds of TWO friends, living on the SAME street having surgery on the SAME day, one after the other. ?! NO LIE! Kelly and Stacey are close friends of mine- kelly had a growth on her hand and Stacey had what plastic surgeons thought to possibly be melanoma under her toe nail-

Last Friday, both went in! Thursday night we al got together for a last minute supper and lots of laughs ( i'm sure theirs were laughs of nervousness!)

Any time someone goes to the hospital for something, i think something should be given to them- whether it be big or small, they need to know you care about them.

I bought these tulips @ Wal*rt for 5 dollars a bunch- they each got a bunch.

Vase- Holla Dolla tree!!!

Each also got a fun little toy that pertained to their sugery- stacey got a Truck on her vase, tied in with her flowers ( the TOE truck)

and Kelly got a hand toy for her hand surgery

And added in were some stool softeners - hey.. lemme tell you, THATS a good friend that can remember those !! When you're on narcotics, the LAST thing you should do is NOT take them.

Have you ever seen them look so cute?! ha!

And NOTHING is better than chocolate to make ANY soul feel better!

Its NEVER in how much something costs, and i try to explain that to people, its HOW YOU PRESENT IT! All of this MAYBE cost me 10 each!

Im happy to report that stacey is perfect- apparently on New Years someone stepped on her toenail and the result was a blood blister- she doesnt remember the incident ( go figure ;)

Kelly's hand is repaired, but the surgery was more extensive than thought. She's currently in a cast and off work for 2 weeks- of fun with me ;) I'm taking care of her, bringing her treats, doing her hair for her and will be doing dinners as well.

Address Planters

Remember these cute flower planters i painted?! I swear this project has been stretched into MONTHS it seems like- today i couldnt stand it any longer and picked up some flowers. With it being so cold still, they dont have a large selection, but they needed SOMETHING to tie in with my golf themed front porch. - My dad always told me when gardening, different areas of your garden and yard are like seperate rooms. This has been made into a golf room for the moment-

The thing about a room, is the colors should Flow.. too many colors= chaos!! I wanted white, green and yellow for flowers, but the white would have faded into the bench- so i have a pop of purple in there instead. - i love how it all turned out.

A little trick so you dont use soooo much planting soil and to help drainage when you water, is to put packing peanuts at the bottom of your flower pot- I ended up using WAY more soil, but to my dad that's music to his ears because he can use the soil for the urns on either side of my front door in a few weeks ;)

I'm not completely done with my golf decorating- the mailbox and a few other things need to be tweaked - out here in the south the mailbox gets done too... in Oregon, you'd be afraid it would all get stolen, right? Lol.. dont hate, its so true!

lil update

i realize that many of you that read my blog are also on FB so you will recognize pictures from time to time.. i've been so busy, the only thing i've used our camera for lately is home decor and wreaths.. bad bad mom, i know!

Life out here in Georgia has been busy! i'm nearing the end of my math class for this term and will be taking my final next week a day before my cousin flies in! Im ready for a mental break, even if its only a week. I will be starting ANOTHER math class for Spring term the end of March. ( You'd think i actually LIKE math, but the truth is, i'm a math IDIOT and have to catch up to the level i need to apply for the nursing program. )

Yesterday, we had an impromtu lunch with daddy- after hitting the gym we decided Sushi was our lunch of choice. They made lil muffin a special set and this is what she did with them. I cant get over her eyes in this pic! She's been a HUGE challenge lately- VERY strong willed and reminds me of her dad on a daily basis. Seriously, if she would have been my first, i think i would have stopped having kids. She s a tough one. Her daily outfit at home consists of ONLY underwear. NO LIE. She's even been known to take her clothes off at church! With her being the second, i've learned to pick my battles and how she matches or the crazy outfits she comes up with, i just let it slide and let everyone get a good laugh at it- for example- This same day, she wore a shirt, with a skirt and DORA SNOW BOOTS she'd stolen from her friend down the street. The kicker? she put them on the wrong feet!

.... Onto mini me- she's been a load of fun lately too. ( extreme sarcasmmmmmmm) i LIVE for the time the husband gets home. By then i'm so mentally drained i swear it takes me 5 minutes to think of an answer to a question they ask me!

She just had her 6 month dentist check up and everything is perfect- she's excited to hear that her teeth are crowded and in a few years she'll be needing Braces - ( another great gene of teeth crowding passed on) She's flying thru school, but i sense she's ready for her Spring break - arent we ALL?!

I recently found THIS lil number in the bottom of her back pack--- ahhhh the days of being a little girl and dreaming about your prince charming, your wedding day and your new last name. LOL- i'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that one of our good friends and neighbors ( miss Sassy Season partner) is getting married in May and we're all talking about it. So, pictured below are mini me's wedding colors- i thought it was creative she made it look like M and M candy!
