Halloween At the Zoo

Boo At the zoo is an annual even that's put on every year- Last year was our first year and i had a blast! To be completely honest, i usually HATE events with kids. Mini me will tell ANYONE :" my mom doesnt like kids" its true and i'll tell you why- KIDS THESE DAYS ARE OUT.OF.CONTROL! This event went so smoothly, i can say i think I had the most fun out of everyone! Here's some pictures to re- cap the night. Wish ya'll had been able to share it with us--- And yes, it was warm enough to wear tank tops! That's the south for ya!This year, our neighbor came with us... next year we'll get her husband to come too! He missed out, BIG time-
Lil Muffin was Orphan Annie this year- i had the lady that made their rehearsal dinner dresses for my best friends wedding make their costumes. The lady pulls thru every time.. i just LOVE her to bits!

Sitting in line waiting for the Zoo doors to open - our neighbor said that the husband dressed up as a UGA college student. LOL

Taking lil muffin to the Zoo this time was memorable. She actually GETS it this time and was awestruck! her mouth was just open the whole night, i actually thought she may be getting sick she was so quiet soaking it all in! ;)

Mini Me and Me

My Neighbor again-- our neighbors are like our family out here, we're SO blessed to have them in our lives!

Mini me HATES having her picture taken, so i caught her in action doing what she loves to do- DANCING! shakin it to the song, do the TWIST"- at the end of the zoo, they have a dancing area, and a DJ with smoke and lights everywhere.. our FAVE part!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- look at this lil moment- Daddy was trying to dance with her and i got her attitude on camera and boy am i glad i did. PRICELESS!!! this face is a common occurrance around our house!

Hope ya'll enjoyed this years pictures--- we still have the Halloween party on Saturday and i know i'll have many pictures from that event. Ive NEVER thrown a Halloween party so am exceptionally excited about it this year. We're SHUTTIN the street down! ( not even kidding!) .... Wish my greenville BFF and Pink Owl didnt have to work that night.. we'll miss you guys!

Parking lot Pumpkin Hunting

After lunch a few Sundays back, we found a little whole in the wall pumpkin set up in the parking lot. A hunting we went for pumpkins for the girls--- Heres a couple cute shots from that. ( and before you judge, lil Muffin dressed herself in that gettup ;)

The girls Halloween costumes are literally en route to my house in an hour- our friend made them and im EXTREMELY excited about them. they will be wearing them on Saturday for our yearly Zoo event, and then again on Halloween- Im Super excited about them this year!! Just need to buy a few more things and they will be ready to go!

Loves and Snuggles make Everything better!

I wanted to post recent pictures of our little Jewel ( the one on the previous post was months old) As i'd said before Friday she was very needy- crying all the time and just wanted to be held. With the husbands birthday, i HAD to get stuff done. We had a suprise get together for him on Saturday and i needed to make him a cake. So, make a cake i did WITH her in my baby carrier.. i SWEAR i'm not a crazy dog lady... ( crazy, yes.. ) Please excuse my face- i didnt do myself all up, after being on 4 hrs of sleep, i DIDNT care!!

The poodle - who you read about in another post as - has been fantastic with

the Yorkie. She's been so gentle with her. Last night, the yorkie cuddled up with the husband and i thought it was so precious that she laid her head on the yorkie... She knows she's hurt, and she just wanted to love on her. And another Sweet shot

Feel Better, Lil Jewel

As i said in the previous post, we had a freak accident last week-
We had a nieghbor boy and his mom over for the first time and they were literally over for 5 minutes. The little boy is terrified of dogs ( i guess our 2 4 lb dogs are TERRIFYING, just sayin') If i would have known this, precautionary measures would have been taken. Mini me let the dogs out of their crate and as usual, they greeted all of us, including neighbor boy. He was perched like a frog on the side of the loveseat. The poodle jumped up on the couch to give nieghbor boy a kiss, and it freaked him out. He literally jumped backwards off the loveseat and ONTO Jewel.

The noise and the sight i saw i will NEVER forget. She layed there CRYING, white tongue and limp. I immediately picked her up and knew something was terribly wrong.

I put everything into place as to who needed to watch the girls, got in the car, and rushed her to the ER vet.

They met me at the door and rushed her back. They gave her pain meds immediately and ran x-rays after making me sign a contract that it would cost me roughly 700-1250 dollars. YES, you read that correctly. I tried like a psycho to get ahold of the husband and couldnt, so i made a split second decision and signed the contract. As ya'll know, jewel is my life and joy. She's been thru absolute hell and back in her 5 years of life. Liver shunts, heart murmer, choking on an apple and chicken nugget.... literally, this dog has 25 lives.

She stayed the night at the ER vet- she was in BAD shape. Coudlnt walk, and although she didnt have any broken bones, they thought she may have some neurological damage, but only time would tell.

We picked her up the next day and had hours of whining and crying- i felt absolutely helpless and terrible for her .the only way she was comfortable was to be in my peanut shell baby carrier. She would only sleep for 4 hrs at a time. I was exhausted.

Now, days later, she once again has pulled almost completely through it. She's still on 3 Medications for it, including a steroid. She sleeps with us at night- she's very very needy. She's drinking and eating on her own ( that's a plus, i was syringe feeding her) and she's not walking 100%. she will walk and then drag her legs, and they give out.. i think neighbor boy landed on back legs?! We're still not sure. She probably feels like she was hit by a mac truck!!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is my sweet husbands birthday and i wanted to make this post for him- I try and make EVERY birthday special.. Mini Me has wrapped his gifts on her own- in purple boxes with manly ribbon, LOL!!
Im TRYING to make his dinner, with a yorkie in my peanut shell from when lil muffin was a baby.
Its all coming together slowly, but i WILL get it done!

Babe, i am so blessed to spend ANOTHER year with you and another birthday.. they only get better!

(In the last 24 hrs, we have had some major events- i'll expand on that later but ask for your prayers for our little yorkie. )

Absolute Beauty

Its on drives like these, i'm amazed i live in such a beautiful place! For those of you that dont know this about me, i've ALWAYS wanted to live in the south and raise a family here.

I would watch fried green tomatoes, and Driving miss Daisy and thought everything about the south was so beautiful. I loved the people, the scenery, everything about it, BUT....i'd never been. We took a HUGE leap of faith and moved to the south, SIGHT UNSEEN!!

People, its EVERYTHING i thought it would be! Look at this picture... as we drove through these trees, i got all giddy inside.Its sights like these that made me yearn to live here. There are small buildings on the sides of the road that once served a purpose... think of all the memories !! There are fruit and vegetable stands everywhere. I feel like there are so many stories and history to everything around here.

I'm happy that my girls are being raised here in the south and that we were given the opportunity to move here. IF you EVER get the chance to visit the south, DO it! ( IF for any reason alone, the food itself is to.die.for)

Something to make you smile

Lil muffin LOVES our neighbor - when he comes home, she yells his name and runs over and gives him a hug. Yesterday, she helped him take his combat boots off and put them on herself-

On top of her hair i brushed out as a joke, the ballerina outfit she wears every other day and the boots, she looks like one HOT mess ;) And that's why i love her.. she wears it all SO well-

Now if you could only see the NON- matching baby legs UNDER the boots.

Something i stumbled upon

Since we've moved here, there has been A TON of talk about the gypsies. i guess growing up i thought of the women as these beautiful jeweled women, but had NO CLUE the lifestyles.

i have talked with many people about this community and lemme tell you, i am SO intrigued by these people, i could spend HOURS reading about them. Maybe its due to the unknown that makes it so intriguing. I'd planned on driving out to their community with a friend and we still havent got around to it.

On our way to my best friends party, we drove thru 2 areas where they live. AS we were driving, we literally drove by these and i thought, "gosh, these houses are monters.." and then it clicked.. it was their houses. So, as we drove back, i made sure i took pictures for ya'll to see, because they are enormous!

I wanted to explain the windows on the one below to you. They live in mobile homes and eventually build these mansions, but DO NOT live in them for a year after they are built. The cover the windows, as seen below and believe that it takes a year for the "evil spirits" to leave the house. i have been told that after they move in, there are still people that live in the mobile home out back and that mulitple families dwell in these houses. (you can see mobile homes in the background of this picture)
Also included in EVERY front yard are statues of Mary- supposably they are a branch off the catholic church-
If you see a gypsie girl, you WILL know.They eat out on the weekends- the girls are dressed literally like pageant queens. Their hair is over the top, and literally look as though they are on their way to a pageant. They drive NICE cars, cadillacs, Mercedes, etc.
The girls start wearing makeup and have coach purses starting at a young age, around
9 or 10.


There is WAY more facts- look it up, it will intrigue you
I told you all of this is intriguing.. there is SO much more on the internet.. that's my little lesson to you for the day-

Weekend of Fun & Celebration!!

This last week, my BEST friend from Birth turned the big 3-0. All of her friends got together and planned a lil suprise party for her- and suprise it was.. Even better, we showed up! ;) I had to make sure it was all decorated, after all what's a party with lousy decor? These chocolate covered marshmallows have become my trademark.. had to make them for the party.. threw some things together and made a dessert table.
I had a stack of scrapbook paper so based the colors around that paper-

She was SO happy -- probably to have a get together, NOT to be 30.. she's still in shock over that one

Its fall!!!! i have a few obsessions right now.. and i wanted to share them with ya'll - FIRST and foremost?! The pumpkin patch wallflowers @ Bath and Body works right now. WOW.. so mad at myself for not buying MORE when they were buy one get one free. Really- when you walk into a room, or a house for that matter, the smells set the mood. Nothing nastier than a STANKY house, ya'll ! The soap - oh yeah.. bought 3 of them and a LEAVES scent.. very clean. Gosh.. it makes me happy

OH, TYLER candles, how i *LOVE* thee- lemme tell you- these suckers are a little spendy but SO worth the while. They last FOREVER, and the smell is strong. The perfect fall scent? CINNABUNS, baby.. smells like fresh homemade cinnamon rolls. You can find these in boutiques.. if not, call Olive Boutique in Salem, Oregon and they'll ship them to you! Tell them Kat sent ya!

Libby's Pumpkin roll- WOWZERS.. straight to the hips DELISH, people!! i cant tell you how super duper EASY this is to make!! really... EASY... i made 2 last week and gave 4 of my neighbors some---
one of the neighbors being the newest family on the block. I met the wife, super cute.. anyways, her husband walks out and my mind starts racing.
Keep in mind, NEVER met the guy before! - me and my fat mouth says: " you know who you look like? Jon Gos*elin.. from the TLC show J*n and K*te plus 8.. UH YA.. whew.. thank God for the pumpkin roll to smooooooth things over. He's cool with me now, LOL!



This store has the little things on the cheap that with some creativity can look like a million bucks.. creativity, people - think OUTSIDE the box, or go blog hopping and get ideas.. that's what i do!




Didnt know what all the fuss was about until i went- its the Costco of crafts and good deals.. it puts michaels to shame. Thank goodness the closest one to me is about an hour away- for the next 5 months that is. Just found out from a little bird, they're comin to our town, baby.... looks like i'll need a job to support this habit.
