OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!

Little Lexi came off the Bus today wearing THIS shirt- it was such a fun surprise! Wow, i am so blessed to have such a special little girl in her, that's eager to learn - this kid is OBSESSED with school, and lemme give you an idea of how obsessed! Yesterday, her shoe broke at school. She came off the bus, and i noticed it was broken. She hadn't said a word. I told her we needed to go then and there to go get some new ones. We looked at 2 places and she was aware that later that night, she still had church to go to, as well as homework to finish. She looks at me and says : "mom, lets just go home and not worry about getting new shoes tonight. another time is fine. "

Me- "Lex, are you sure? I really don't want you to be without black dress shoes."

" Mom, its fine, i have like two other pairs i can wear. i just really need to get back home and do homework."

I wanted to say: "Kid, RELAX !!! This is only first grade! But why would i squelch my childs eagerness to learn? I'd rather have her be smart like her father, than focused on stupid things like shopping ,like ME!

So, Lex, CHEERS TO YOU IN YOUR HARD WORK AND EFFORT AT SCHOOL!! WE couldn't be ANY prouder!!

When you give a toddler some markers-

they make a MeSs like this !

As she colors, she sniffs EVERY marker, thinking they all have a yummy smell. That's why there is marker ALL over her nose.

Oh, but it gets better. As i give her a few more minutes, i look and see her CHEWING something! She had bit the felt part of the marker and PULLED it out and was eating it. Apparently she thought it might taste as yummy as it smelled but quickly learned that was not the case. I just love pictures for moments like these! And her arms- maybe a future tattoo girl? I dunno, but she LOVES to color the insides of her arms... mercy.

Boo at the Zoo

Just imagine--- 5 kids, and 8 adults. We take 2 SUV's and put the 3 older kids in with the guys (HA HA) so us girls can chit chat while the babies are in the back talking to each other and then nap. We drive to Columbia, SC to Boo at the Zoo. Never been there before- now.. i will tell you this will be a yearly thang until the girls just dont dig it anymore. All dark, lights EVERYWHERE, foam machine, magician, and random tricK *OR* treat booths everywhere..
this pic- something just so pretty about twinkle lights and palm trees. Maybe because it makes me think of tropical island, my pre-baby bikini bod, and cocktails!

I wish ya'll could've been there last night when he pitched the funniest fit about how there had not yet been a pic of him up on our blog. He said he doesnt care WHAT i say about him, as long as his pic is up. Here he is, the 19 yr old. Kidding, but he really does look like he is, huh?!

Yes, i'm in a tank- i've got my Uggs on, and those things are Nice and heated!
Hopefully Santa isnt going thru a financial depression this year and will get me the Dark Grey knee high ones for christmas- i really really have been good this year!

Awww.. lil' muffin wants to eat some of her candy- she earned it carrying her bag around and walking for hours. Trooper, Quin- dangle a carrot in front of her and she'll do anything, especially if its food- just like her mama

Happy Birthday To....

Ms. Laura!!!! Lexi 's teacher and above all, one of the FIRST people i ever met out here in GA, and is now a friend of mine.. you've all heard me talk about her.

I had WANTED to bring a huge cake in and feed it to all the kids- i called the office and got the run around about food allergies and how i could bring in pencils.. Ok, LAME-o!! What kid gets excited about a pencil for heaven's sake?! **KIDS LOVE SUGAR!** So.. i brought these fun trick or treat marshmallows, in different shapes. I put together this little flower ensemble for her- Every girl loves fresh flowers, they brighten any day- And can i just tell you its been friggin torrential downpour here! Uhhh... not funny, i moved to get AWAY from the rain. My hair is sufferin' ya'll!

All joking aside, Ms. Laura, i hope *YOUR* day is a special one, even if you do get to work a few extra hours. Cheers- and maybe a little martini?

50's Day at school

Yesterday was 50's day at Lexi's school- i thought i would suprise her and show up dressed up in a poodle skirt as well, AND dress up her little sissy too. WE all showed up right before lunch- She was super excited!!!! Quin was the HIT of the class- the kids went crazy over her, and she got such a kick out of them!!

See little Quin's poodle skirt? That was Lexi's 5 years ago!! I dont save ANYTHING- but so happy i save this little gem. Doesnt she look like she's actually learning something in school?!

These little treasures - oh they ALL cracked me up! All of them wait for lex while she goes thru lunch line, then they follow her and all sit down. the lunch room is SUPER organized, i was shocked- i asked lex to take a pic and all the girls rushed in by her, they insisted on being in it as well. How cute are they?!

And WHO is this little cutie patootie, you ask?! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll.. Miss Lex met him at vacation bible school this year. His dad is a youth pastor. He also has an older bro and apparently the two argue over lex.. how funny is that?! I also hear from the girls in her class that she chases him at recess, but she insists they are just "friends". Good girl, but he is the youth pastor's son and isnt he just the cutest thing ever?!

After lunch, they all had rootbeer floats sitting at their desk and they had a hula- hoop contest. those kids have skills! One girl hula hooped a solid 4 mn, 20 sec, walked forward and bakwards, counted.. wow..

Now right off the bat, lemme tell you, i am ONLY putting this pic up because its good of Luke, Quin and lex, and i cant be prideful and not put it up cause i dont like myself in the pic. I dont know if it was the angle or what, but i look like i put on a good 30 lbs since moving here.. have no fear, ya'll - see a few pics above of me and Quin and see that i'm still the same.. WHEW. ;)

Lex loves riding the bus but lately has wanted me to come and pick her up in her classroom so she can stay longer.. the chick already pulls a 7 hr shift in there, but sure.. i come pick her up and the kids just LOVE i mean LOVe quin. Its like a little celeb. This group of kids chased her around the room.. it looked like her entourage of peeps or something.. you can tell she's lovin it though.

And last, but DEFFO not least, let me introduce you to this CUUUUUUUUTE little jacket. want to know its history?! 28 years old, i tell you! This was MINE back in the day! i went into storage yesterday and found this in one of the boxes- it looks so cute on her, and i'm a thrower ya'll.. but Saving this is a must. Just one of those oldies but goodies! Enjoy!

What *NOT* to say to ...

Your daughters FIRST grade teacher-

Ever since i met lexi's teacher, i just LOVED her- she is a Kick in the pants, has a rockin personality and reminds me alot of myself-- so that means she's super cool ( i'm so humble, i know. ) Lex constantly talks about her teacher, makes her pictures at home daily and is always thinking of fun things to get her. Well, i was texting her the other day- we were talking about shopping, and jeans. I text her back and had written how out of shape i was- well.. good ol' predictive texting... i get a text BACK from her that says something like, Kat, re-read what you wrote me. It said :" U ARE SO OUT OF SHAPE! " good thing i know her well, or miss lexi may have come home with some BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAd grades!

Speaking of grades, she made the honor roll! WOW- i cant explain how proud of her i am. Moving to a new state, starting all day school and still doing well in school and honestly, it HAS to be the teacher- she cant wait to go to school every day.

The school rewarded her with Free Putt- Putt golf, and a free meal at Applebees.. Talk about some good incentive- i would have worked hard for cool prizes too. Needless to say, i was the 'C' average student. Thank you, Jesus, Lexi is smart and an over- achiever like her father ;)

*Happy Birthday, Wucas!!!*

Yesterday, we celebrated Luke's birthday- lex has fall break so we get a long 4 day weekend. Luke took some well deserved time off. Lex and i wanted to make his birthday extra special this year- we wanted to suprise him, so after we put Quin to bed, we made a cheesecake, and these fantastic cupcakes i found on Delish.com- to die for! Then it was off to vacuuming, cleaning sheets and picking up the house- after putting streamers up and decorating a little too.

After getting our storage stuff transferred here,yesterday (YIPEE!!!!) we came home and drove around looking for houses and then celebrated with dinner at our Fav mexican place.

THE MOMENT I WANTED TO DIE!...

would have been tonight when Miss Lexi - in all of her cuteness, loud mouth and "joking' said something in Target that made me want to DIE! It all started when we had gone to Ross looking for the bottom of Quincey's costume- i found a basket and so i bought it. ( I know you're all dying to know what she's going to be, but you'll just have to wait and see, and i *HOPE* it turns out how i want it to)

Luke's Birthday is on Thursday, so we had some things we wanted to look for at Target. We walked to Target, still with the Ross basket in the cart. Of course, i doddle around the store, and go up and down every isle- its Target, they have so much cool stuff! We found some things to buy, and lex is putting them all in the basket i'd already purchased.
Me :" Lex, please dont put things from Target that arent paid for yet in the basket."
Lex: (LOUDLY) mom, you didnt pay for that basket, you STOLE it!!"

OH * MY * LORD!! yup.. uh huh... she knew EXACTLY what she was doing and she got a HUGE kick out of it-

We get to the checkout line and she does it AGAIN! , but this time in front of the lady that is ringing my stuff up.. this time, i whip out the receipt.
As we were leaving Target, lemme tell you, girlfriend got a L..........O...........N..............G lecture about how its not ok to lie, and that's not a funny joke, etc etc.

*A night at the pumpkin patch*

Last Saturday night, we went with a group of people to the pumpkin patch- it was barely misting and they called to see if i still wanted to go ;) I said, are you kidding?! We just bundle up and go! I wore a shirt and sweatshirt until 10:00 and was still warm enough! Unfortch, all the fire pits were rented out, so no smores-

These 3 really need candy! One of the moms brought it for everyone while we went thru the corn maze-

*Mrs. Christa and i* She's my new favorite friend out here!!! Super sweet, beautiful and 5 months preggers and still size 0. I could barf! I've always wanted to jump in a pool full of noodles- This corn was about as cool. I dont know why its so therapeudic but it is.. i didnt want to get out!
