Its Baaaaaaaaaaaaack..

My creative side has returned!! Today was the FIRST day that i could home after the gym and STAY HOME for the day- i mean, i got SO MUCH done!!! i decorated my laundry room to satisfy me enough until i do it how i REALLY want ( New paint color, etc)- i also found some 4th of July stuff at Target Dollar spot and ran with it with decorating today- I still have plans for the front yard, but for right now this is what i have- * Strawberries are vase fillers - target in home decor section. They have them at ours for 1.98 a BOX!

*Glitter stars- Dollar spot at Tarjay ( they have them in country-ish type too one with blue and white stars and white and red stripes. They are pretty heavy duty, i just LOVE them!)

I took a Mason jar, filled with blue and white marbles, vase filler and then have these red things.. i think they are Christmas tree filler! but they remind me of fire works!

*there are fake fire works to left of jar- its a toilet paper roll with striped crepe paper, and then Vintage cutouts glued and fun stuff coming out of top ( i bought these in Oregon)


These are the COOLEST vintage looking metal buckets! Once again 2 yrs ago, Corky's Daughter- they are metal buckets and i have them in Rusty Red, Blue and sky blue with the white star in middle. I LOVE them! (Super easy to make your own, i was just too lazy!)

I Love this bench!!! I got it on a clearance sale YEARS ago. but it was still spendy- so shabby looking.. the blue polka dot ribbon matches blue star.. looks better in person.

Im going to take my other 2 metal buckets and one more and plant red, purple and blue flowers in them and place them in an old, rusted out wagon and position it in front of our house/driveway.. our driveway is off to the LEFT of our house, so driveway is upside down L shape.. pics to come

Its Pool Time, Ya'll

MY girlfriend whom i've known since i was 12 comes to visit us often now that she lives in Virginia. How funny that we grew up on the West coast in Oregon together and now were close again, YEARS later on the Opposite side of the country? Its been super hot here lately, so i decided to take the girls over the pool at our old apartments. Ghetto, i know.. but here's the thing-

we have a pool in our new neighborhood that the workers are diligently finishing up and will be ready in 2 wks.. so until then, i'll justify that its ok to swim in that pool with paying a grand in rent every month last year.. i've paid my dues, people!

My friend has been a lifeguard and swim coach since she was 15 - lemme break it to you and let ya'll in on a little secret. I.HATE.SWIMMING! i'd rather lay in the sun and occasionally get in the pool, BUT NOT MY FACE. IF MY FACE OR HAIR GETS WET, I FREAK. THE. FREAK. OUT!! My girlfriend just hopped on into the pool and started a swim lesson with lil muffin.

PURE BLISS * PURE HEAVEN * A MOMENT TO MYSELF !!! Is this what all you women with Nanny's feel? I ENVY YOU! Much to my dismay, Lil Muffin is a FISH! She was like a fat kid on a cupcake- she couldnt get enough!

A Special Mothers Day

..I know, i know, i'm SO behind on blogging.. i'm sorry i really am. Lets jump into it- Mothers Day weekend was SLAMMED with wedding stuff, and my family being here from out of town. Our church had a baby dedication on Mothers Day so believe it or not, we woke up SUPER early on Sunday and drove 2.5 hours back home to make church on time and can i say we were even EARLY! ( maybe cause i was totally putting the petal to the metal due to my zombie state from lack of sleep)

Quin Being dedicated in Church ( being dedicated is a public statement that we as parents will raise her and LEAD her towards Christ)- our church meets in a theater so the lighting is TERRIBLE for pictures- and every pic we were behind a microphone or the pastor was in front of us.. So this is the best shot, and at least we HAVE one decent one ;)

After Church, the husband was responsible for planning a brunch- due to waiting too long we ended up at a different location than originally planned. Once again, lighting was jacked, so were the pics- but still got some goodies!! ( notice the 7 yr old has swiped my pearls - those were REAL pearls from China and were my gift from my BFF in Greenville)

This was the first Mothers Day in 3 Or 4 YEARS that all of us kids have been together, so that was SUPER special and on top of it Lil Muffin was Dedicated- what could be any better?!

Whats with the Wedding Mishaps lately?

Ok, ya'll - my girlfriend in Greenville that just got married.. remember her?

of course you do, all 5000 of my posts lately have been about her. Well, her husband and her flew down to Florida on thursday because her husbands sister was getting married ( she lives in TN. but wanted to have a FL wedding)

My gf flies into Fl, late thursday night, after eating a chicken sandwich earlier that day from Arb*s, now called Barfy's in my books.. she NEVER eats there but needed a quick bite having worked night shift - she ends up getting food poisoning SO bad that she's almost passing out in their hotel, completely laid out on the floor. She asks her husband to take her to ER. She gets there and being a nurse tells them that she just needs some IVs and a pill to stop the insanity at both ends.

Meanwhile, the weather is totally not cooperating for the bride - she was suppose to have an outdoor wedding, but because there was more than a 30% chance of rain, they had to take it inside.

I get a phone call from my mom tonight asking if i'd heard what happened to their pastor that was going to marry them, also a family friend from Tennessee- i said no. He was staying at this beautiful resort ( where the whole wedding party was staying) and leaning on the balcony looking over the ocean at the beautiful view. i kid you not, the RAILING BREAKS AND HE FELL 3 STORIES TO THE GROUND AND BREAKS HIS BACK IN 3 PLACES!!!! The pastor is laid up now for WEEKS, cant sit up straight for weeks and they had to rush around finding someone to marry them!

ok.. if this was me, i would think there was RED flags all over the place thinking that maybe i shouldnt be marryin the guy!!! ( dont get me wrong, i have met him once and he seems like a great guy) but DANG, i'd be FREAKED out!

i havent gotten a report on the rest of the wedding, but when i do, i'll let ya'll know- i really think she should submit this to some sort of wedding disasters type contest.. maybe she'd win! As for the pastor? i think the resort ought to be building him a bigger, nicer church after this whole incident.. shooot, he may OWN the resort!

The Cake Catastrophe

Ok, the post ya'll have been waiting for so very patiently.. the wedding cake that was a HUGE catastophe! You see, this cake was $1000- now.. if your cake is exactly what you've ordered, then it would be worth the money. But it wasnt. this is how it all went down!
There is a cake store called C*upcake CO*ture & C*atering in Sc. My girlfriend ordered her cake and was extremely excited that it was going to be strawberry with hand crushed strawberries in the cake. she also ordered 2 special cupcakes, one for each of my girls that were the flower girls ( an additional 12 bucks). She told her girlfriends at work all about it, and apparently one of her co-workers forwarned her that she too had used this woman and her cake was a DISASTER! Apparently she too had paid a huge cost to her cake, and the catering place let her assistant do the cake. To their utter horror, it was nothing like what they had ordered and the next day they asked for their money back. The caterer was extremely ugly about the situation and refused to refund ANY money back.
So, you can imagine my girlfriends worry as she's already signed a contract with this woman for her cake. Her mom called the caterer and made sure that she knew how important it was that she did everything right.
The day of the wedding, she was suppose to- drop the cake off hours before the wedding and TEN minutes before the wedding starts it came. The caterer had called the owner of the wedding venue and first asks if they are open!! HUH?! of course they are, there is a WEDDING taking place in moments! She then says that her assistant had problems finding the place using her navigation ( totally phony, ours worked JUST fine!) and that they had been "rear- ended" on the way to drop off the cake, so they had to re-make the bottom layer of the cake--- i call the BS whistle on that one, because listen to THIS- the owner told the wedding venue lady that she was never going to have this strawberrry cake for a wedding cake again because it FALLS APART- there is your reason folks.. she didnt get rear- ended, she LIED and then opened her fat mouth and let too much out !! So the ENTIRE BOTTOM LAYER was FAKE! no cake!!!! That left 2 layers- the top for the 1 yr anniversary and the middle layer for guests, but oh wait.. IT WAS RAW!! to boot, they brought 2 sheet cakes, one carrot and one red velvet- HUH?! SHE ORDERED FRIGGIN STRAWBERRY, not red velvet, not carrot! So, the wedding venue cut SUPER small pieces and tried to make it work, but there was NOT enough cake to go around.
To boot, they NEVER brought the 2 cupcakes that were ordered as well and the monogramming looked like my 7 year old could have done it.
My girlfriends mom called the next day and talked to the owner who gave her nothing but grief. Her mom stated the issues of the cake and the catering owner badgered her, told her she would not refund her money and that she would sue my girlfriends mom for defamation of character --- uh.. sweeetheart, you didnt hold your end of the bargain!! you know, that little contract you had FOR the cake?! YOU DIDNT MAKE WHAT YOU PROMISED!
So, this is going to court- my girlfriend could have gone to Sams club and bought 2 sheet cakes for 45 bucks- A THOUSAND FRIGGIN DOLLARS!!!
(Pink owl- is there anything that can be done that you suggest on top of suing for the money back?)
