Baby Shower This 'n' That

Today i helped throw a baby shower- long story short, we decided to throw it at Carrabas- NEVER been there before, but they were willing to accomadate our party. And boy did they! i Have NEVER *EVER had such good luck at a restaurant before. They seriously bent over backwards for us and i WILL be back because of it ( and the food was to die for! I got chicken with goat cheese, basil and sun-dried tomatoes on it-yum.o.la!)
I went in with a girlfriend from church for the shower- and let me tell you, when it comes to parties of ANY kind, i am a Hauuuuuuuuuuuuuuge control freak because i want everything to be perfect! And i couldnt have picked a better person- she too us SUPER controling about things-
With the flu bug hitting me earlier this week, i didnt know if i would be able to pull thru- but i did.
My partner in crime was in charge of cupcakes- i did the favors, and the flowers

Just used 3 different kinds of white flowers :

*$5 bucks a pack(wal*mart & SAMS club)- $15

*$2.50 for sticks in flowers

*Vases- FREE;already had!

*Scrapbook paper-FREE; found from 2 years ago

*see thru lime green table cloths (curtains) with circles all over them-FREE; already had them

*Ribbon- well.. SORT of free.. had it for awhile, i'm a ribbon HOARDER- i have tubs and tubs of it!





*Sweet metal stands!!; already had from COSTCO of course!

SUPER * DUPER easy!!! just buy large marshmallows

*Wilton chocolate - Michaels ( i used 40% off coupon)

*sticks - Wal*mart in the craft, chocolate section with all MARTHA STEWART stuff

*Bags- ditto on where sticks are..

(You can get the sticks and bags at Michaels too.. but WAY more pricey!)

Just make sure you have WAX paper to set them down on- just spoon on the chocolate, and pour on sprinkles or whatever.

*ribbon - spools on sale at Michaels for 4/ $1.00!!!!

I made DOUBLE what i needed to with these and they were G-O-N-E!!

There ya have it.. super simple, yet mod.. that's how i roll.. sO so greatful i didnt do it at my house with being behind on cleaning and laundry from everything.

Valentines day rocked-

Our next adventure after Valentines day was to take our little Yorkie BACK to Univ. O Georgia for her cardiologist check up- seriously, i have NEVER heard of a dog with so many issues until it came to my dog- between her and the two girls, pretty much my life is lived in the Dr offices!

*The morning of the 18th, we dropped mini me off at school and hour and a half early so we could make our trek to Athens, a few hours away. Well.. i thought i could "remember" how to get there and what exit it was. hmmmmm.. WRONG. Of course, P.O.U.R.I.N.G down rain, the husband only had 3 hrs of sleep ( cause that's how he rolls with his newfound 14 hr work days), and EVERY time i called the Dr to get directions, i went to voicemail! He's FUMING mad, cause the automated directions told us to take the exit 50 miles back!

*We stop at Mcdonalds- some toothless man tells us to go some other way, not the right one. After me apologizing and admitting fault about 50 thousand times, some swear words, and the steering wheel punched a few times, the husband decides to go to a gas station and buy a map.

*Get to the gas station and sees the map is $11!!! He decides to open the map and try and memorize the route ( all. back. roads) Nice gas station lady gives him directions and meanwhile, cardiologist assistant calls me and also gives directions.

* After hydro -planing a few handful of times (i''m not lyin) and praying that we'd make it there in one piece, we only ended up 20 mn late

*we're taken into a room with Resident Dr (matthew Mchonay (SP?) lookalike, cardiologist assist, student, me and cardiologist (who looks like that short lady in The incredibles with the short black hair and huge glasses!!)

*Dogs heart is doing well after being on meds for a few months- she has rare heart condition only found in cats, thickening of heart walls- yada yada. She's better with heart, and gaining weight but still has life threatening issues-

*they give me a list of 3 other things they want to do with her that will cost me upwards of 5 grand to lengthen her life but all risky- NO THANKS

*stop at Schlotzskys for lunch, feel sick after

*got sick ALL.THE. WAY .HOME!~ (as i'm stopped on the side of the road for the 3rd time, some LAME-O honks as i'm losing my lunch! AS bon qui qui would say :"ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue!"

the flu bug hit and hit HARD! i think maybe i lost 5 lbs that day- mini me got it as well, but as of now.. we are all good in the hood- - - Lets keep the fingers crossed that the husband and lil muffin doesnt get it.. no one likes to see a sick be' be'!

Valentines Day Memories Made

Our morning started when mini me brought in these hand made Valentines for her daddy and Me!! She has a giving heart and i LOVE that about her!!!

My plan the night before was to go grocery shopping for our special dinner i was going to make- i had it ALL mapped out in my head- from the flowers, to the table set up.. lil muffin wasnt feeling well due to her 7th ear infection ( since last july i might add!!) So, we didnt have food- Cracker Barrel it was for breakfast! We waited about 40 min for our food- terrible.. but worth every bite! seriously, i ate my food, half of lex and some of lukes- uh, no.. i.am.not.joking!

While house hunting (someday we will agree on a house and buy it!) Lil muffin was getting antsy.. i decided she was big enough to be turned around- she's STOKED to be facing forward like her sissy now!!

Like i mentioned before.. i had this fun dinner mapped out in my head for everyone! luke was going to get a steak, twice baked potato and asparagas, the girls were going to get homemade alfredo- I bought this pasta at World Market last weekend- i know, i know.. too cauute! After going to Hotel for Dogs (super cute movie) and house hunting, it got pretty late- we called olive garden and decided a THREE-HOUR-WAIT was too long and i would make dinner on my own!

So, homeade alfredo, spinach salad, garlic bread and asparagas it was! SO yummy! and.. mini me picked out some pink strawberry ice cream bars for dessert ( my plan was homemade tiramisu) but these worked out perfect!

Just laid back, spur of the moment family fun!!

A Valentine from Sam

SAM?! , you say?! yeah.. didnt you know i have a boyfriend on the side?!

CALM DOWN- i'm JOKING!
I help in Mini Me's classroom all the time. A week or two ago i was in there and this little boy, who we'll call "SAM" is hilarious!!! He will talk your ear off - he was making his Valentines "List" and asked how to spell my last name. I told him and he said, i have to write it the right way so i can give you a Valentine!" i thought.. yeah right.. Kids always say they're going to do stuff and then forget-
Fast forward to today- lil Muffin and i visited class and the FIRST thing Sam does is walk up to me with his bag o' Valentines and says, Ms. _____, will you help me go thru my Valentines, and help me find yours?! " I couldnt believe he actually remembered! !! how FRIGGIN CUTE!! Here is this adorable lil Nugget.. such a sweetie!!

Q dawg eating her sucker- along with her conversation hearts, the BAG of 5 double stuff oreos a girl in the class gave her and a few other things.. SUGAR HIGH!

Watching some video on how Valentines Day started- from the library, that ended up being SUPER lame.. we're talkin OPB kind of boring! Hey.. her teacher tried.. but we just laughed at how lame the movie ended up being and OFF it went!

Now that they all have their yearly supply of candy.. SHEEEEESH!

Oh. ... and Laura.. " Do ya like Mike "N" Ike's?!

A Craft here, a Craft there? No, crafts EVERYWHERE!

I LOVE Valentines Day- i mean a.l.o.t! I buy small gifts for family and friends and this year, i thought i would use Mini Me's cheer picture and incorporate it into a gift. We found these little frames at Target- 3 for 2.50! i painted each of them white. I ended up making 5 of them- Mini me decorated the one for her BFF with stickers and Red glitter. Wish i had taken pictures of each one because they were all so different and fun- but this is the only one that i took- for her teacher.
The back of the frame has these cool hooks- wanna know how blonde i am? i just decorated the ENTIRE frame and THEN turned it over to see the hooks were on the SIDE! oh.my.gosh.... so, the glue gun came to the rescue!

And MY finished result of the irock Valentines- What a task that became- in the Family magazine somone said the time was an hour.. uh.. no.. close to 3. But, they will be a hit.

Martha's Got Nothin on Me!

For Valentines Day, mini me was suppose to bring in a box for her valentines. Well, some kids had kleenex boxes sent home. Mini me asked for a box and her teacher said: "uh, you dont need one, your mom will come up with something better. " So the pressure was on to find some sort of box or container and jazz it up!!
I went to the Dollar tree and bought this red container. I had Valentines Tissue paper, stickers and ribbon so just put it all together over the course of a few days- oh.. and a pipecleaner too..
I glued the tissue paper onto the box- setting the box in the middle, then used Mod Podge to seal it. Here is the result- i WANTED to put hot pink Fur trim around the top, but i promised the husband i wouldnt spend any money.. so.. this is the finished product- You like?

The sweetheart sticker and the Puffy pink heart are 3-d!

The tissue paper was jagged inside the box.. so i used this cupcake ribbon to make it look more put together- (this ribbon and the Hugs and Kissed ribbon from Michaels for a BUCK a roll!)
