Run on gas causing lines, fights at area stations

Cars are lining roads at several area gas stations tonight, causing police to have to direct traffic and in some cases fights to erupt, authorities say.

*where traffic stretched a half mile
* Also, deputies were called to that station after a man reportedly threatened to tie a chain to a pump and pull it with him after being told there was no gas
*All but two stations were without gas Thursday night

* No gas in TWO counties!!

Time To Get Creative!...

.... stop driving around, and cook all the time cause FOLKS OUR TOWN IS ALMOST COMPLETELY OUT OF GAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the Hurricane hit Texas, there were rumors that we would run out of gas so everyone in the town gassed up and the lines were IN SANE. I figured it was all media hype, but the next day, the gas went up to 5.00 a gallon. I kid you not, i saw it with my own eyes! Within the week it went down- - - -
I would see a gas station here and there with the sign like below with o.oo across it for the price meaning.. "so sorry, out of luck, no gas here suckers."
THEN TODAY-- i went to the store to pick up some ingredients for dinner, Deets to follow. I pull into the grocery store and i KID NOT., a line with at LEAST 50 cars on all 4 sides leading into the gas station.. i cant lie, i sort of really friggin panicked! I asked a man at the store who informed me that this was the only station that JUST HOURS BEFORE had gotten gas and that was the ONLY place in town that had it!!
I HAD to take a pic to prove it.. too bad the pic wasnt good. It looked like when you leave a football game and the cars are bumper to bumper- UNBELIEVABLE! I have a full tank but have been put on driving restrictions per Manager Lucas as i like to call him (the good ol' husband)

I'll keep ya'll posted- AS for din din- i felt like white trashin' it up for dinner tonight. Luke bought tots at the store yesterday so i googled "tator tot casserole" and the first recipe that popped up was from the Duggar Family- the ones that have 18 or 19 kids and counting- they are such a sweet family- how they do it and stay sane, i'll never know. ( on TLC and like every show on earth like TOday show, etc etc. )They have some great recipes on their site! i made their tot casserole and added a TON of cheese on top the last 15 min- i cant lie- i gorged myself on it. IT ROCKS! Here's their website so you too can make it- so easy only 5 ingredients, so what are you waiting for.. MAKE IT TONIGHT the hubby's bound to lurve it!

Washers, Roaches and Fleas- OH MY~!

Have ya'll ever had one of those days where things are going great, and then all of a sudden the brakes go on and your day FLIPS?! yesterday was one of those days, folks!
I worked out, felt like a million bucks and once Lex got home from school, the chaos began- i helped her with her hour of homework, while the baby sat by my chair and fussed so much i finally just put her in the crib with toys so she wasnt a distraction-
I go to put the REDS and PINKS from the washer and find it in water, so i go to put the spin cycle on, doesnt work. i try EVERY settings spin cycle and none of them work. I manually empty the water- which by the way smelled like a manure pile, and restart the washer. If fills with water and stops once again. I set up a repair for them which will be today in a 3 hour slot. DO companys just think you have 3 hours to just sit and wait for them? I HAVE A LIFE!
I snuggle the dog and flip her over to check for fleas- my groomer a day before had groomed the dog and said THIS year is the WORST year for fleas- GREAT! my poor 4 lb dog- - - I find and manually pick 7 FLEAS off of her. I'm officially grossed out! She doesnt even play outside, just pees!
I make shrimp melts for dinner- one kid stares at it, another asks for shrimp on the side and just cheese on an english muffin. She too leaves the shrimp and doesnt touch it. we go to Bible study, come home and they are HUNGRY! But its 830- bed time was an hour ago, so you can have cereal.
We get home, Lex lets the dog out of her crate and i hear a blood - curtling scream: "MOM, THERES A COCROACH!" and points to it- I find him, and tear apart the living room, moving furniture and in my head praying that i find it and kill it. GOT HIM!!
Another day has started- always take the dog potty first and i ALWAYs look at the ground by the door- inside by the door i see a dark object. i flip the light on and ANOTHER roach- Is God teasing me? ACK!!
All of this seems so crazy and at the time to me,being human, its stressful! BUT,in the BIG

spectrum of life, i'm Healthy, i have a healthy family (exept the occasional fleas on Jewel) and i'm blessed beyond belief! I have to look at the BIG picture, and laugh at those day by day tests i'm given- testing builds character and i'm thankful for what God has given me!!

OH........MY............GOODNESS!!!

you know how you have a usual routine with the way you put the kids in the car and its like you're on auto- pilot. Well, that was the case for me yesterday as luke and i went to gas up at the gas station. i thought maybe i would open the door for Quin so she didnt get too hot.. i go to open the door and i see THIS!!Woops... guess i didnt buckle her in and she helped herself OUT of the carseat to watch her daddy pump the gas---
Which brings me to this next thing- why do i always put my kid in this PINK dress?! Apparently, i make it look like she has no other clothes, but i promise, the kid has plenty and now i'm aware of my one dress fixation and the madness will STOP!

Upon picking Lex up from school today i noticed an unusual thing you WOULD NOT see in Salem- someone left their truck parked outside of lexi's school , UNLOCKED, with KEYS IN THE IGNITION! SAY WHAT?! uh huh.. wow, we really DO live in a safe part of town! ya'll know the kind of peeps in OR. that would take off with your car-
As we walked into the gym to get lex, I open the door and quin loudly goes : "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" apparently she understands that we need to be quiet in a building. As another mom walked in, she looked at the lady, held her finger to her mouth and loudly said; "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" ...

Lex opens up at random times about her school and things that went on- apparently at lunch today, " their was a flying cocroach in the cafeteria."
OH.SO.APPETIZING.

Fall has come, the leaves are changing, and that means the hair is Changin too!! So.. here's the new color and the new do- cut a little off, was getting too long -

*Week Wrap up*

Hi, Everyone!!!
Another week has come and gone- and its almost OCTOBER!!! I cant believe it! We had many fun things that happened during our weekend so i have a few pics to show-

Friday morning, luke and i were each doing our own thing, so Quin thought she'd follow suit and do her own thing- her idea of a good thing is ALWAYS something mischevious, which you will see the idea of the day was getting into her daddy's wallet. This girl really hasn't been taught about money or shopping yet, which makes me think, are girls bred with some kind of gene that knows what money and a MANS wallet is?! ;)

Friday afternoon, luke was itchin for a fishin' so he took lex into the walmart, bought a fishin' license, a little chair for lex who is terrified of fire ants and some worms (which still sit in my fridge today- friggin sick)


After hours of fishing, lex came home and put this shower hat on, told me she looked like the lunch ladies at her school- reminds me of the movie 'Coneheads'.

Saturday night brought on "sleepover in the family room". We have this blow up bed that is lex's fav- but only allowed to sleep in it on fri and sat when she doesnt have school in the morning- a special moment i captured-


Look at this lil' Nugget i found- grocery shopping with his mommy in his DIAPER and shirt. i think he MAY have been 3 tops- sad.

Lex is learning about 'Johnny Appleseed' at school- her project was to go to the store, pick out an apple, weigh it, and write down things in the store that were made with apples- she tried BUYING everything made with apples, but i put a stomp on that idea!

Have to tell you the funniest thing- many of you dont know, but the Club Car is made in GA.!!! Our church is located by a golf course community, so many people drive their golf cars to church- i really think half of the town has them! Its a kick and now luke has a new toy he wants in the near future!!
Keep Luke in your prayers- he has had many eye problems in the past and starting Sat his right eye became inflamed- it got so bad yesterday it was completley cherry red and he wasnt able to sleep last night. He will be going to the eye Dr. today to get it checked out.

Yes, peeps, I AM ALIVE!!

WHERE have i been ya'll ask?! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllll... hmmmmm.. i just was lazy a few days last week and then we went to our favorite little place in SC last weekend. Then, once we came home i came down with some sort of bug. I still have it, but am well enough to put up some pics and holla at cha!! Hold on and bear with me, this is a L-O-N-G blog, but every pic is well worth it. I'm kinda known for the fun pics!!

I'm always the one TAKING pics, so finally turned the camera on me, cause most people arent psychotic like me and take pics of everything that goes on in life.

Did you know Luke and Christian are BUMS?! ya.. they like to dig thru trash as a recreational activity- ACTUALLY, truth be told, little miss Lexi lost ANOTHER tooth (that would be her 7th) on the way home from church. she put it in a ziploc bag at the end of the counter. Jess and i made dinner that night and cleaned up--- SOMEONE, not naming names.... (JESSIE) misplaced it, so as parents dug thru the trash. i did too, promise.

..And the outdoor trash- my job was to hold the flashlight and laugh in this picture.

AND WE FOUND IT!!! wanna know where? Jess had put the ziploc BACK in the clean ziploc drawer- who would've known?!

OK.. brace yourselves for the next pics. One of my fav things of SC is to go to the Jockey lot. This place is southern and ghetto! Hundreds of cement tables up on cinderblocks and they sell everything from bras, to food, to books to animals. you never know what you're going to find and i love to go and see the people and the junk they sell.

Lex and luke petting a dog- seriously, there are hundreds of any kind of breed possible here- i think many of these dogs are puppy mill dogs, and they have chickens too.. it makes me ill walking thru here! But in this pic this lady is a licensed breeder. BUT, i didnt give in. no more dogs for awhile!

Oh, yes... you are seeing it right- you can buy a PACK o' BRAS for 10 dolla- i bought 2 packs.. KIDDING

And, when i sit on a toilet, i've always wanted to see THIS in a bathroom- WHY ON EARTH would you WANT to draw attention to the toilet bowl brush?!! CLASSY & TACKY all in one!

Yes, you see alot of Dogs!! No, we're not dog hoarders, and we dont need OPRAHS help! We meet Jess and Christian at her parents house. She has 2 yorkies, we have one, Christian has a chocolate lab and her parents have 2 !!! insane!! but.. they live on acreage, so there's always plenty of room for us all.
